Company History

September 1946 Founded by the first president, Kimimasa Saito, in Ota-ku, Tokyo, as “Ikegami Tsushinkizai Seisakusho”. Started manufacturing small transformers for telecommunications equipment, power supply equipment, etc.
February 1948 Reorganized to “Ikegami Tsushinkizai Seisakusho Company Limited” (Capital 195,000 Japanese yen)
April 1958 Established Kawasaki factory and started manufacturing TV broadcasting equipment and audio equipment.
September 1960 Established Mito factory and started manufacturing power supplies, measuring instruments, etc.
May 1961 Established Fujisawa factory and started manufacturing industrial television equipment and small transformers.
October 1961 Listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange
December 1964 Established US corporation Ikegami Electronics Industries Incorporated of New York (consolidated subsidiary)
April 1969 Established Utsunomiya factory and started manufacturing industrial television equipment, etc.
August 1970 Established Ikegami factory and transferred TV camera division from Kawasaki factory.
March 1975 Changed the trade name of US corporation Ikegami Electronics Industries Incorporated of New York to the current trade name Ikegami Electronics (USA) Incorporated.
January 1976 Opened representative office in West Germany.
December 1980 Established Ikegami Electronics (Europe) GmbH, replacing the representative office
February 1984 Stocks listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange by designation.
May 1991 Established Techno Ikegami Company Limited.
April 1992 Established Ikegami Elder Company Limited.
May 1993 Established Item Company Limited.
October 1999 Integrated Fujisawa Office operations into Ikegami factory.
April 2000 Transferred all operations from the Kawasaki plant to the Shonan plant.
February 2003 Integrated Mito factory operations into Utsunomiya factory.
January 2010 Liquidated Ikegami Elder Company Limited.
April 2010 Integrated Ikegami and Utsunomiya factories.
April 2012 Added Techno Ikegami Company Limited to the scope of consolidation.
October 2012 Transferred the production functions of some products from Utsunomiya Product Center to Techno Ikegami Company Limited.
April 2014 Established Ikegami Electronics Asia Pacific Private Limited in Singapore.
