The GFCAMTM adopts industry standard MPEG-2 compression and MXF file format, allowing compatibility with a number of NLE manufacturers. It achieves superb picture quality with full resolution 1920x1080 / 4:2:2 HD images recorded to removable flash memory media, GFPAKTM.
The GFCAMTM has been designed with special consideration for rain and dust resistance, so it can operate in harsh environmental conditions with outstanding resistance to shock, vibration, rain, and sand, providing excellent reliability for stable ENG shooting.
The GFPAKTM is the newly developed Flash memory recording media, offering distinct advantages over other recording media with rugged, high impact-and-vibration-resistant solid-state memory. You can record for approx. 60 minutes* with the 32GB capacity GFPAKTM.

The GFCAMTM employs 2/3-inch image sensors (choice of native 1080i or native 720p CCDs) with high sensitivity for ENG applications.
In addition, it incorporates the same sophisticated digital process ASIC as Ikegami’s top-end HDK-79 series HDTV cameras, providing superior color reproduction.

Incorporates MPEG-2 4:2:2@HL codec to record full resolution HD images, including 1920x1080(1080i) or 1280x720(720p) of 4:2:2 color sampling, and furthermore, an advanced codec chip set with programmable DSP makes it upgradeable to the latest codec to future proof your investment.
In addition to HD video recording, uncompressed audio, ancillary data, time code, and meta data can be recorded.
Buffer memory built into the camera can record video and audio signals for 25 seconds without a GFPAKTM. Replacing the GFPAKTM within 25 seconds allows continuous recording for applications requiring long recording time.
The recording starts within 3 seconds after power on, so important scenes will not be lost.
Status indications and Thumbnail images can be instantly viewed on the 3.5-inch LCD color monitor. You can simply select clips using thumbnail images and continuously playback according to a set PLAY LIST.
The camera includes simple editing of recorded clips, so you can immediately transfer the edited video.
For stable ENG shooing the GFCAMTM is designed with a low center-of-gravity and well placed shoulder pad. There are two different shoulder pads available, sliding type as standard and optional fixed type.
The camera's USB 2.0 interface has many functions. Metadata such as record date, location, photographer name, program name and/or camera number can be input, and Proxy Video (Option) can be exported to an external memory device. Moreover, all of camera firmware can be updated from USB Memory.
With an MPEG-2 encoder built into the camera head, a TS signal can be directly output from camera head.
An optional compact and light weight transmitter can be mounted ideally for use as a wireless camera.
It is possible to use conventional camera accessories such as a variety of remote control panels, transmission system, etc., providing excellent flexibility. A Unislot for a wireless microphone receiver is also available.
